January always brings a sense of looking ahead, and even though we’re nearly at the end of the month we’re still enjoying that ‘new year’ vibe! As our plans for the months ahead start to take shape, it’s a natural time to take stock of what we love wearing, what we reach for most and where our wardrobes might evolve next.
Fashion trends for 2026 are less about wholesale change and more about refinement. Think structured silhouettes, interesting textures and timeless pieces that feel personal rather than prescriptive. In this blog, we’re sharing a few of the trends we’re seeing emerge, alongside some Etton Taylor favourites that fit beautifully within them. Not as rules to follow, but as inspiration you can take or leave.
Elegant, refined & individual
2026 will see fashion leaning into polish and personality, and that means beautifully made pieces that feel considered rather than showy.
At Etton Taylor, this is very much our comfort zone. The Annabelle Lovatt tweed coat, designed and made in the UK from British tweed, is a perfect example of refined tailoring with timeless appeal. The flattering silhouette and thoughtful detailing both help make it a gorgeous piece that we think you’ll return to year after year.
Or if you prefer a twist that delivers effortless elegance with a little drama, the Pippa Cape adds instant impact. Whether layered over tailoring or worn with a simple dress, it’s a reminder that elegance doesn’t have to be complicated.
Volume & statement silhouettes
One of the more playful trends for 2026 is volume. Think fluid shapes, movement and pieces that make an outfit feel intentional without feeling overdone. We’re totally here for it and our Megan wide-legged trousers are an easy way to embrace this look. Elegant yet relaxed, they balance beautifully with knits, blouses or tailored jackets.
Or if you prefer to keep that kind of structure for the upper half, the Sammi Ruffle Shirt adds interest, bringing gentle drama through texture and shape while remaining wearable and flattering.
Lace, texture & layering
Texture is set to be key for 2026, with lace, silk, velvet and tactile fabrics adding depth to everyday outfits and helping you dress them up for smart and evening occasions. The Millie Lace Blouse is ideal for dipping your toe into this trend and it’s perfect for layering - wear it over a simple cami to let the lace shine, or layer it under a gilet, blazer or cardigan to add interest without bulk.
Our fur wraps also play into this trend beautifully, adding warmth, texture and a sense of occasion. They can be styled casually or for balls, weddings and evenings out and we’ve got so many colours to choose from! Check them out here.
Playful details & pattern
Fashion is also making room for fun again, not that we think it ever really went away: our customers loved patterns, leopard print and colour last season! But this year it’s all about personality pieces and creating outfits that don’t take themselves too seriously.
The Leah Leopard Print Skirt taps perfectly into this playful side of 2026. It’s bold without being overpowering and surprisingly versatile. We love that it’s easy to dress up or down – think heels, boots or canvas trainers - depending on how you style it.
And a gentle reminder…
While trends are fun to follow and great for inspiration, they’re never a rulebook. At Etton Taylor, we firmly believe in clothes that last and choosing pieces that make you feel confident, comfortable and like yourself. If you’re just not feeling a trend, that’s just fine – let others follow it and rock the outfits you love instead.
Our new collection, which will start dropping from next month onwards, includes subtle nods to many of these 2026 trends… but always through the lens of timeless style and wearable design. The very best trend of all is wearing what makes you feel good and owning your own style!
